Two NBA pre-season games were scheduled this Thursday, and they saw Dallas win in Atlanta, and the Clippers vs Sacramento.
While the NBA season resumes next Tuesday, most teams will play their last pre-season games on Friday and only two games were scheduled for Thursday: Atlanta-Dallas and Clippers-Sacramento. The Mavericks led the first five minutes and returned to the Hawks (108-94, mt). Despite the absence of Nowitzki, Curry, Barnes and Barea, the Texans were able to count on Gian Clavell (19pts, 5rbds, 5pds) and Maxi Kleber (16pts, 4rbds, 2pds). On the side of the Hawks, where star Denis Schroder was not in a big night (9pts to 2/10 shots), it was Kent Bazemore who finished top scorer (20pts, 6rbds, 5pds).
Griffin wears the Clippers
At the Staples Center, the Clippers had to wait until the middle of the third quarter to finally take the measure of Sacramento in the Californian derby. The score was 44-44 at half-time, but the last two quarters won 30-24 and 30-19 allowed the men of Doc Rivers to win. Blake Griffin (18pts), Tyrone Wallace and Wesley Johnson (16pts each) were the top scorers of the Clippers, while only Zach Randolph surpassed 13 points on the Kings side. Three of the four teams will play again this Friday: Charlotte-Dallas, Golden State-Sacramento and Clippers-Lakers. Atlanta is going to be able to focus on its early season ... in Dallas next Wednesday.
