Varane's turn to extend

After Karim Benzema, Marcelo and Isco, Raphaël Varane extended his contract with Real Madrid. The Frenchman is now linked to the Merengue until June 2022.

The wave of extensions continues on the side of Real Madrid! After Marcelo, Karim Benzema, Isco, Dani Carvajal and Marcos Llorente, and in the meantime Sergio Ramos, Raphaël Varane signed a new lease this Wednesday with the double European champions. The French defender of 24 years extended until 2022, while his current contract, signed in 2014, ran until June 2020.
Varane, what a prize list!
Arriving in the summer of 2011 in Spain, the native of Lille has gradually made his place within the plethoric number of the Merengue, despite several injuries that have distanced him from the team. He has played 114 Liga matches in his first six seasons, and three in 2017-18, where he enjoyed the departure of Pepe, his main competitor in recent years. In Real, the former Lensois has built a fairly hallucinatory list: three Champions League, two Liga, one King's Cup, two Spanish Super Cups, three European Super Cups and two Club World Cups. The French defender will hold a press conference on Thursday afternoon in Madrid to come back on this extension.
